You may have wondered what the most pressing human rights issue in Turkey might be.
The on-going issue of impunity? Torture and police abuse? Attacks on the press? Perhaps, the basic question of freedom of expression…
Not any of these, apparently. Instead, the Human Rights Commission of the Turkish Parliament is launching an investigation into the adoption of Turkish children by gay and lesbian parents in Europe.
Perhaps the commission might consider looking into casual homophobia and rampant discrimination against the LGBT community in Turkey instead.
